What's My Google PageRank?

The buzzwords for Search Engine Optimization (SEO) are Google PageRank. Your websites PageRank is a numerical measure of importance (on a scale of 0 - 10) generated by Google's proprietary algorithm. The actual PageRank is derived from a mathematical computation that assigns a numerical value based on the number of inbound links to a particular web page. The more inbound links a page has, the higher the PageRank — and "perceived" overall value. With this in mind one can see the importance of having an effective plan for increasing these overall figures.

Another important aspect of your website's Google PageRank is the understanding that it is utilized as a method for ordering search results in the Search Engine Results Pages. Websites with a higher Google PageRank tend to show up higher on the SERP's. If your website has a high PageRank, and shares the same keywords as a website with a lower PageRank, your website will typically be placed higher on the Search Engine Results Pages.
